Well done to the U9's Eagles for winning the Northburn Trophy at the weekend,the boys did it the hard way winning a semi-final against Ellington after drawing with them in the group stages (THE ONLY TEAM TO BEAT THEM THAT DAY) then winning the final one nil after extra time,l've got to say the semi-final was a total team effort and for me the best the lads have played all season.Well done to Darren and the lads you totally deserved to win it,a never say die attitude - you made a lot of parents proud at the weekend!

I would like to say a huge thank you to players, parents and spectators of both my under 12 Diamonds Team and under 9 Hawks team also. This season has been a memorable one and I hope you all enjoyed it as much as me, you have made an old man happy and proud. Joe :)

Sharks- Just wanted to say how proud I am of all of you's after the brilliant performances we have given in all of our games and tournaments this season and I am so proud to be a shark WE RULE!!!

Thanks to everyone who helped to make the Girls Blackpool 2008 Tournament such a massive success but particularly to Suzy who did all the organising for the 3 teams and made the weekend such a hit for parents and kids alike. And to Tony and Michael who looked after the Diamonds and to Martin who looked after the Sharks when I was with the other team - thanks lads!

Now to the football - well done to the U10 Dolphins on some great results - I'm sure you all enjoyed the experience.

U10 Sharks - finishing in joint 1st position in a national competition is SOME achievement. You then showed some quality football to beat Lumley Ladies 3-1 in the semis before finishing runners-up to Cramlington Maseratis in the final. Well done girls - you are a great bunch of kids and I'm so proud of you!

U12 Diamonds - what can I say? Finishing 3rd in your group and qualifying for the plate, you showed fighting spirit, heart, desire and skill to beat Premiership team Blyth Town in the quarters 1-0, Boldmere Falcons in the last 3 minutes of the semi 1-0 and then to the final where we played Brighouse Blues. The game finished 1-1 in normal time taking us to a penalty shoot out which the girls won 3-2. Awesome! Tears of joy flowed but what a moment when Lauren lifted that Plate - a moment to remember forever! So very proud of you all!

Thanks girls for making this my proudest moment in junior football!

To all the Sharks, very very well done, your friendship and spirit is to be admired, we are all extremely proud of you all, a very big thankyou to Phil for all your help and encouragement, and Suzy for all your behind the scenes work, SHARKS RULE!!!!.

Well done to Bedlington Hawks u9's who battled their way to the semi-finals of the Newcastle tournament on Sunday 18th May only to lose in the last minute of extra time. A quarter-final penalty shoot out win adding to the excitement along the way. Well done boys you were superb and made all us parents proud of you all.

Just to say thank you to Joe Jones and his players and all the parents who made our weekend at the ayr football festival very enjoyable the kids played outstanding in a year above themselves and did us all very proud. A million laughs were had not just at the football but at our very toned down social evenings[ha ha] and we, The Wrightys can say that we are pleased to be associated with a fine bunch of folks - can't wait for the next one cheers.

I would like to thank all those who took part in another of Bedlington Juniors U9's golf days. All 10 places were soon snapped up and so unfortunately I had to turn away enquiries from Colin Montgomery and Sergio Garcia [sorry lads contact me earlier next time] I would also like to thank Longhirst Golf Club for allowing us to hack up their lovely course. The winner on the day was Ian Wyard but once again the real winners were the team with 131 pounds raised to help towards their trip to ayr.

Very well played Diamonds against Forest Hall. Couldn't have asked for anything more.10-1 was an excellent result!GO ON DIAMONDS!

Congratulations to Claire Marshall and Angus Grey on the birth earlier this morning (5 March 2008) of their baby boy Ewan Angus Grey from all the players and parents of Bedlington Blades. Here's hoping he is going to be a future Bedlington Junior just like his big brother Ethan! Ewan arrived in the world at 6.12am this morning and weighed in at 8lb 4oz. Both mam and baby doing well.

Well done to the WILDCATS for all their hard work -they might not win every game but they never give up & keep battling till the end. VERY proud of you all! And thanks to Monty & Trevor for all your hard work too. COME ON THE WILDCATS!!!

EVEN AT THIS BUSY FESTIVE TIME AS USUAL WE HAD FANTASTIC SUPPORT FROM THE EAGLES PARENTS, GRANDPARENTS, FAMILY AND FRIENDS. I WOULD LIKE TO THANK JACOB HOPKINS AND JAMES APPLEBY THE ONLY TWO PLAYERS TO BRAVE THE NORTH SEA, WELL DONE BOYS. I WOULD ALSO LIKE TO GIVE A BIG THANKYOU TO TONY DODDS, NEIL HOPKINS, MARK APPLEBY, DARREN CROOK, JOHN SECCOME, GRAHAM FURNESS AND OF COURSE MYSELF WHO ALL TOOK PART TO RAISE MONEY FOR OUR KIDS. Congratulations to Joe Jones and his team Bedlington Hawks on winning the division 1 qualifing league and securing a premiership place after Christmas. I know we can speak for all the parents in saying how proud we are of Joe, our kids and our team as no one deserves it more for all of their commitment and hard work. WELL DONE LADS!

I would just like to say well done to all the teams... all the girls especially who have been totally mint this season and have improved massively!! It is very nice to see young girls playing football!

I would also like to say thanks to Joe, Phil and Monty... for the chance I have been given to help within the club, I am beginning to get more confident and love it!

Well done to the Bedlington sharks for winning again today you will win this cup.

Just wanted to congratulate the Dolphins on their first win of the season!!!!!!! 5-0!!!!! All the parents are so proud of them. The improvement has been amazing over the past few weeks and the win has been too long in coming..... I am sure the waters will turn in the New Year if the improvement continues at the current rate and we will see win after win - all so well deserved!!! Well done girls and continue with the big effort.

It was a warm sunny afternoon and across the moor nine warriors stood, they glared at each other across the hallowed turf between them all of them not wanting to show fear but to show bravery, courage and strength and as they unleashed their weapons they knew conflict was upon them. No, this wasn't the battle of Flodden it was golf at Longhirst Hall and what a great day was had by everyone.........I would like to thank David Jenkins and Debmat surfacing Ltd, Caroline Leyland and Ian Broadie of Longhirst for complimentry tickets, also thanks to Craigs aunty Tracy for prize donations last but not least a big thanks to all who took part.
Kevin Mavin won the competition but the real winners were Bedlington Hawks with a substantial sum of money being raised.
And as the battle ended the warriors left the moor, sweat, tears and blood had been drawn. They marched heads held high and covered themselves in honour, knowing that when the call came they would be ready to fight another day...........................

The children have just showed us their site. It's lovely to hear about their interests and achievements outside of school. Good luck with the season ahead.

From everyone involved with Bedlington Hawks I would like to say an enormous thank you to Emmerson Hornsby who ran the Great North Run to raise money for our team. His impressive time of 2 hours and 13 minutes was a great effort. Obviously his strict training regime of run 6 miles, drink a pint of cider, run 6 more, then drink more cider has paid off. I've emailed Paula Radcliffe to let her know where she's going wrong! Apparently Em's dvd - Running, Cider and Me - will be in the shops for Christmas! Thanks again mate, it's much appreciated.

A big thanks to Alan and Lisa and everyone else that was involved in the race night, It was a great night and hopefully we will have a few more like it in the future. Thanks from Mac and the under 11's

Best of Luck to ALL our girls and boys who kick off their league campaigns this Saturday 22nd September and Sunday 23rd September. We have a great bunch of kids to be proud of and the future looks good for boys and girls football in Bedlington. GO FOR IT!!

BEDLINGTON JNRS V TYNEMOUTH
I would like to say how proud I was of ROMA on Sunday(160907) on their fantastic 1st League game at home when they won 9-2. They showed strength and determination after the first quarter when they decided to play as a team, passing the ball and running into space. What a TEAM effort and some spectacular goals! As one person said"ITS LIKE WATCHING BRAZIL". I would like to take this opportunity to welcome our two new players to ROMA: Liam Petrakis and Michael Watson who have integrated into ROMA extremely well. Keep up the good work ROMA.

p.s. A belated congratulations to Bedlington Hawks who were runners up in the North Tyneside International Tournament recently. A tremendous achievement and got within touching distance of winning the whole thing. They represented our club brilliantly all week and thoroughly deserved their runners up trophies. Well done lads.

I just want to say a big thankyou to all coaches, players and parents who have sent me their best wishes for a speedy recovery, cards and pressies after I broke my leg last week. I hope to be 'back in business in between the sticks' soon and wish all teams a great season. GO SHARKS! Ellice xx

Well done to The Blades for their performances at the North Shields Juniors Invitation Tournament held at John Spence Community High School on Sunday 19th August.
Despite being without our goalkeeper Luke Metcalf and midfielder Ethan Grey and having not played for over two weeks, the boys once again did themselves proud.
After losing our first two group games , against the eventual Cup Finalists North Shields Lions and Newcastle City Celtic, the boys played magnificently in our final group match and beat North Shields Cougars 5 nil. This put us through to the Shield Semi finals by finishing in third place in our group.
At this stage the boys really stepped up a gear and played their semi final opponents North Shields Tigers off the park and comfortably progressed to the Shield Final with a three nil victory.
In the Shield Final all of The Blades played outstandingly well and were rewarded with a magnificent 5 nil win. Well done lads you were great!!

Also a massive thank you to each and every one of the players on the day and a special thank you to Keiran Swann who stepped into the breach at short notice and played brilliantly. Keep playing like that Keiran and Milan will have a great season.

Finally thanks to all the parents for their support on what was an absolutely awful day weather wise. The lads and myself really appreciate your support.

A massive thank you goes out to all players and parents that supported Bedlington Unders 8's Blades and Milan at the Hillcrest Football Fun Competition on Saturday.
Both sets of players did themselves and the Club proud. I would like to give my players, The Blades, a special thank you for all your efforts on what was your first competitive matches. I am extremely proud of each and every one of you, you were all magnificent and played your hearts out. Well done lads also on winning the Fair Play Award on the day you thoroughly deserved it. Keep it up lads and I'm sure we'll all have a great season this year.
